NEXT RETIREE CHAPTER MEETING WILL BE ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 11, 2017 -- LUNCH AT 11:00AM; MEETING AT NOON.  AFSCME COUNCIL 65 OFFICE, NASHWAUK.  

Retiree Member Karen Haugen was awarded the 2015 Council 65 Lifetime Achievment award. Unable to attend the annual convention in October to receive her award due to back surgery, a small ceremony was held later in Bemidji. Read more >>>

In 2014 our chapter gained 229 new retiree members! We are now bigger than we have ever been with 550 retirees. While the majority of our members live on the Iron Range, we now have members across Minnesota, the Dakotas and in several other states. Read more >>>

The Council 65 Retiree Chapter made its presence known at the 50th Anniversary Convention in Grand Rapids in October. President Jones, along with many Retiree Chapter members announced to International President Saunders & convention delegates that "We retired from our jobs, but we did NOT retire from the Union!" Governor's Fishing Opener
On Friday, May 10 the Retiree Chapter joined Local 2768 (Park Rapids School employees) & Ed Mn (PR School teachers)at a booth on Main Street. Chapter President Cheryl Jones, members Karen Haugen & Cheryl Cronemiller spent an enjoyable afternoon helping with minnow races & prize give-aways. WCCO-TV on-air personalities raced minnows & spent time with us.
